Photoshoot with Love Script Photograghy

I have been absent from the blogosphere for a week I have missed you all so much. Now at last I can show you the reason why I was absent for a week! I have been making garments for my first ever collaborative shoot with my friend Stacia of Love Script Photography.

Here are a couple of my favorites!

My all time fave!!!!!
To see it all click on over to Stacia’s post, here! You don’t want to miss it!
I have come to the conclusion that modeling is hard work. Designing is so much fun and using the gifts that God has given me is such a blessing as well as working with others that use the gifts that God has given them! I am praising the Lord for giving me such a wonderful friend and opportunity! I can’t wait to do this again!!!!
Take care friends =)
Wearing in outfit 1: ArtfullyArtista by Laura Clarke cotton caftan-y dress see it in full detail here; ArtfullyArtista by Laura Clarke orange ceramic bead and chain necklace; vintage belt;tunban-y head wrap made with the sash from this dress; and various bracelets and necklaces worn as bracelets.
Outfit 2: ArtfullyArtista by Laura Clarke seersucker stripe skirt made from vintage yardage(sooo swoonworthy); thrifted denim shirt that I removed the collar and front pocket from; Patagonia sandals; Linea Pelle belt; and vintage chain necklace worn as a bracelet.
p.s. Modeling is hard… but fun! Thus far I only model my style since I am not tall enough or skinny hipped enough for regular fashion modeling. But I don’t mind not fitting the standard because I like being me. So go forth, and be ye yourself =)

Not too long ago I tweeted and facebook-ed about the latest jewelry design that I made & I am so excited about it, and here it is!!!  I LOVE it! I do believe it is my best design yet. It is made with gold-tone chain and thin leather cord that is intertwined together and is topped off with a large cobalt agate chunk that I made into a pendant. I know this necklace will be a summer staple in my closet and I find the subtle statement it makes, oh so appealing. I love how it looks in the previous post with the white and cream.
What are your go to summer jewelz?

Happy Friday!!!!!

Art Show

So  Friday I went to my very first art event  and I was very blessed to have my  necklaces at the event. Since it was just before my Birthday I wanted to treat myself to something. Since I can’t afford shoes I decided to make the dress I have been dreaming of since June. This dress was it. Since school was out for a very extended weekend due to Thanksgiving. I had time to make me this dress. I still have some tweaking a and finishing work to do but it is such a soft silk. I love the luxe feel. And it was perfect to wear to my first art event
My necklaces displayed @ the art show.
I really had a fun time at the art event I met up with my friend Sam who I haven’t seen in such a long while. We hung out and talked and met new people and saw a fashion show, with a burlesque flavor. I met the artist behind the fashion show Frank Strunk III. He makes his garments out of of metal and they are truly works of art.  I really love the corsets and corset belts he designs and makes I would love to wear one with silk of course. Check out his website here.
I hope you all have an amazing weekend !!!!!
Love you =),

wearing: Silk dress I designed and made me for myself for my birthday using a recycled mens shirt, self designed turquoise fringe necklace with a vintage necklace on top, self designed clutch, faux coral ring from the Folk Fair and Gianni Binni shoes.
p.s I remember several years ago contemplating the idea of only wearing clothes I design and make. Then deciding that I never could. I love shopping way too much too only wear the clothes I make. Though it was fun to wear an outfit that I designed and made a majority of. I could never do it all of the time.
