That 70's Dress

July… 2012 Happy 4th! Wore this to a cook out with some friends. Though this outfit is cute, it did not feel like me…

July… 2012 Sunday, church outfit wearing texture and soft colors… Not my usual thing. Soft colors don’t look the best on me but the skirt was pretty amazing fabric wise.

July… 2012 Party pants!!! I loved these pants they were not surprisingly, hard to wear… Just because, the print is so strong and they only looked good with heels. But it was a great outfit! I wore this to church a change from my usual skirts and dresses… it’s fun to change things up.Party Pants

August 2012, No outfit posts… This was the month I started at Aveda Institute to learn the fine art of cosmetology, if you have never been to trade school of any kind, you’ll realize how completely different it is from traditional college…

September… 2012 Back in action with a just because it’s not a school day or a Sunday outfit…

Next up 2013 and 2014…

Looking Back and Looking Forward Part 3

In part 3 I will delve into 2012 (look a rhyme!). Now in 2012 my life had taken a pivotal change I had just finished my last semester SPC in the spring before dropping out… I was so over school… Then in August is jumped back into school, not just any school trade school so I could become a cosmetologist!!! I went to AVEDA and you have to work very hard, no one truly understands hair school until they’ve been there… In the midst of trying to figure what to do educationally, I was also thinking most seriously about switching blog platforms. I started on Blogger like many folks but what I really wanted was WordPress… So I drastically slowed down my blogging almost coming to halt, but was more like a trickle… Part 3 is recapping January – April. =) Here goes…

January 1st 2012, Happy New Year!!! I spent the day at home in this amazing 70’s Indian frock I found mine at a thrift shop for $4. But if you want one you can either luck out at the thrift shop or look for one on Ebay… Some good key words to find it are vintage Indian boho cotton maxi dress or Indian cotton dress… It generally costs around $75 to get on one Ebay…

New Years Dress

January 2nd 2012, Just because I can outfit… I really love this skirt and I believe I went grocery shopping when I wore this. good days and good outfits are always nice…

Seaburg Inspired

January 8th 2012 Church day! Yay! Wore this beautiful hand painted wrap skirt from Misred Outfitters.. Sort of older lady chic look I felt most elegant and refined.. Sun splattered light is a delight…

January 12th 2012, School plus going down-town I loved this dress it was so delicate and it was 70’s Indian cotton number as you can see I LOVE Indian cotton dresses…

January 14th 2012, Art walk bound… I love drama in my outfits not my life. So I wore this vintage blazer and this skirt as a dress (still wear the skirt as a dress…) With an emphasis on this bracelet I had designed.

January 15th 2012,  After church outfit bliss, wore the blazer again with shorts (it was a warm winter) and the necklace I was very much re-wearing what I loved during this time. Which is always smart.

January 29th 2012, Oh my this outfit and that top they are the best the drape and the sheer beauty of that top I am a little bit obsessed with that top =) I wore this to church because you always need to keep it classy…

February 5th 2012, Wore this to church! The dress was a gift from my dear friend Sara, I think I still have it, it’s hand painted from India and the most beautiful silk ahhh it was joy to wear!

Art Nouveau

February 15th 2012, Wore this down-town I felt so classy it is entirely possible to make shorts work in more professional settings it’s all in how you wear them… And that blazer was dream, ❤ It was most beloved while I was in my blazer phase…

February 17th 2012, Spent the day with a friend and I couldn’t think of anything else to wear, so if in doubt I wear black which is what I did.

February 19th 2012, Church day! I paired this lovely silk skirt that I had worn many times before, with this beautiful oatmeal sweater that was gift from a friend. don’t you just love it when 2 pieces are matches made in heaven?

March 18th 2012 A church day, so say hello to the 60’s house dress. My dad couldn’t understand why I thought it was so exciting. Apparently when he was a kid they were a rather common and unexciting… But I didn’t care I wore it with flair and joy because hello, it was a 60’s dress. =) I was really into the 60’s in 2012. And this one had fringe trim what’s not to love?

March 23rd 2012 Spent the afternoon shopping with an old friend so I wore this… I believe I opened my WordPress account this day as well =) It took me 6 months to figure out how to export my blog..

March 25th 2012 My favourite 50’s skirt strikes again work to church with a wrap top I designed out of recycled materials… Loved this outfit I get kind of happy when I look at the pics the colours the shape a moment in time…

March 31st 2012 I  wore this out to dear friend’s birthday dinner.  The skirt was fave, yet another outfit that has me at hello. It’s always nice to have an excuse to wear something special.

April 1st 2012 Church day. I love rich colors and textures. ❤ Oh and vintage too this outfit covers all those categories…

Pattern Play

April 7th 2012 I got my dad from work and wore this so we could take pic in a beautiful park. I designed the dress myself, well known fact in my circle of friends) is that I design fashion and jewellery… But I design because I love to, it’s a hobby not my job. which confuses people because they think it’s my job. Thus is life I guess… Aren’t those sleeves fabulous???

Golden Haze

April 14th 2012 Church day, in a bright and springy outfit the skirt was a dress I transformed into a skirt… Then wore it with bright pink further amplifying the brightness.

The rest of the 2012 posts up until December are a jumble that I will be untangling in the next post for your viewing pleasure….

Looking Back and Looking Forward Part 2

Round two of the recap of the recap this is covering the last quarter of 2011…

It is now September and I was in college!!!! Yay for secondary education =)

September 11th 2011 in addition to it being the 10th anniversary of 9/11 =( It was also Sunday so I wore this to church I LOVED this outfit I felt pretty and silky and luxe, and no this isn’t a dress it’s a skirt and top with a belt. The dress-like affect is fabulous.

September 15th 2011, I was all dressed up and running errands in this delightful mixed print outfit and lo and behold we took the pics and it looked like I had no waist! What!!! How could I venture out of the house in an outfit that hid my tiny little waist… So here’s the only pic I deemed fit for the interwebz.

Mixed Prints

September 25th 2011 Church again is scorchingly bright colours… In the tail end of 2011 I was really into 80’s silk blouses that had really crazy prints. I had even found a top printed with images of tiny little fashion magazine covers I thought it was the coolest thing ever I only wore it once and of course I never took a single pic of it…

Brights =)

September 27th 2011, I wore this to school and I loved the scarf in retrospect I feel this outfit was bit dour and meh…. But at least the scarf was nice. I think a bright smile could have helped  tremendously.

Add a Splash of Pattern

October 2nd 2011, A church outfit, I loved both the skirt and top so much.

October 9th 2011, Another church outfit. Another favourite I felt SOOOOOOOOOOOO good in this outfit colour and fun shapes work wonders and it was all vintage! Go vintage!

October 16th 2011, Church outfit in this AMAZING vintage pleated skirt… Love that skirt I still have it and wear it… It’s a beaut.

Paisley Pleats

October 28th 2011, Hello errand day in my shiny new vans I had wanted a pair for so very long so needless to say when I got them I wore them…

Sweater Weather

Sweater Weather

October 30th 2011, In theory I like this outfit in practice not so much… Why, you might say?? The colours are too dark, and not enough bright in there and my clothes eat me up, they wear me instead of I wearing them.. Always wear your clothes. Don’t let them swallow you. Also my hair is a bit overdue for a washing, sometimes I get lazy especially when I was younger.

Bundle Up

November 12th 2011, Art walk in shorts and silk, feeling classy! Also I chopped of my hair actually I cut it myself with the clippers! I had guts to spare.

Dripping in Pearls...

November 13th 2011, Church day in my newly shorn hair. The one thing I do not like about this look is how thick the skirt makes my waist look… it may not be too obvious in the pic but I could tell when I wore it which bothered me… So if you like your waist tiny keep it from looking thick.

November 20th 2011, My Sophia Loren skirt I had just watched Houseboat for the 1st time so it inspired this outfit. If you love old movies and Carey Grant and/or Sophia Loren I highly recommend that movie, it’s so very sweet.

November 26th 2011, My 21st birthday party and my birthday dress. A tradition I started when I turned 20. 2011’s dress was so dramatic and so much fun to wear I have as of yet to run across anything quite so fantastic. Sadly this year when I turned 25, I didn’t prepare and have a dress, oops.. Well I’ll have to get one for my 1/2 birthday and get back on track when I turn 26…

November 27th 2011, Church outfit! Trouser jeans and this AMAZING set of earrings set the tone for this simple yet dramatic outfit. I won the earring from LA Lynn’s. It was the 1st thing I have ever won on the internet and I was so happy I wanted them so bad. The earrings were so bold I only wore one. So keep your accessories moderate. Too many accessories looks cluttered on most people… Iris Apfel is a genius at pulling off lots of accessories.Dream Catcher

December 9th 2011, An art show at my brothers school prompted this outfit I got quite a few compliments wearing this. It does feel nice to look and feel pretty.

A Little Lace

December 11th 2011, A church outfit! I love this cape and it looks really cool with a simple little dress. =)

Golden Tassels

December 16th 2011, Out on the hunt for Christmas presents when I wore this. I am usually never prepared when Christmas comes…

December 23th 2011, forlorn little outfit pics that got left behind in 2011. So I made a post just for them =)
